Reading these old issues, I've just noticed a lot of "gee, wish the Batman had his own radio show!" comments being made by the characters and it strikes me as Kane and Finger trying to hint on DC. I was aware that the Dynamic Duo made appearances on the Superman show -- but that wouldn't be until 1945 or so. I wasn't aware of a pilot episode attempt, that might be a good thing to get a hold of!

Thanks again for the comment and I was happy to give the tip. About the lack of a Batman radio show, during the phenomenally successful Superman radio show there are many episodes featuring Batman and Robin including a number where Superman doesn't appear for a long part of the storyline; apparently these were written to give Superman/Clark Kent actor Bud Collyer a vacation. There was a pilot Batman radio episode somewhere in the 1940s; I listened to it years ago and about all I can remember is him telling the listeners earnestly that there are no such things as ghosts.

Pat from the Nothing But Batman blog.Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05060349239296193385noreply@blogger.com
